What Knockaround get right

The value is the headline: genuinely polarized UV400 lensesat a price where losing a pair doesn’t sting. The color range is enormous, so you can match a frame to a mood or an outfit for less than lunch. And they’re light and rugged enoughfor the beach, a festival or a glovebox spare — the exact jobs an expensive frame is too precious for.

Where the trade-offs are

The frame is injection-molded polycarbonate, so it’s lighter and flatter-looking than acetate, with a matte plastic finish that won’t develop the depth or take the polish a good acetate frame does. It also can’t be heat-adjusted the way acetate can. None of that matters for a knockabout pair — but if you want a frame that feels substantial and reads premium, it’s the wrong tool.
