The one thing an oval face should avoid

Since shape is rarely the problem, proportion is where an oval face goes wrong:

  • Frames that are too large. An oversized frame can overwhelm balanced oval features and throw off the natural symmetry. Keep the frame in proportion to your face rather than dramatically bigger.
  • Frames much wider than your face. Aim for a frame roughly as wide as the widest part of your face; a frame that sticks out past it looks borrowed.
